TORONTO, ON – January 28, 2026 – CBA In-House Lawyers is pleased to share the launch of "Designing Your In-House Career: A 4-Part Series on Strategy, Brand, and Leadership," a comprehensive professional development program specifically designed for current and aspiring in-house counsel.
The series begins February 12, 2026, addressing the unique career management challenges facing in-house legal professionals who navigate complex legal, business, and leadership demands without formal training in career strategy for the in-house environment.
Led by Lawyer Coach Paulette Nnorom, the four-part live webinar series provides dedicated focus on professional growth beyond daily legal responsibilities. The program recognizes that in-house counsel face distinct career challenges that differ significantly from traditional private practice trajectories.
Addressing Critical Professional Development Gap
The series targets lawyers seeking to take control of their career trajectory rather than waiting for opportunities to appear, strengthen their professional brand inside and outside their organization, and develop practical leadership skills that align with real in-house realities.
Each one-hour session runs from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET and offers concrete tools, reflection prompts, and examples tailored specifically to legal professionals working in-house environments. The program provides actionable strategies for setting goals, translating experience into business-focused value, and refining natural leadership styles.
Comprehensive Four-Session Program Structure
- Building Your One-Year Plan (February 12, 2026) helps participants step out of autopilot and design intentional goals for 2026. The session walks through a structured process for identifying key strengths and development areas, clarifying what progress looks like, and building realistic roadmaps with built-in accountability measures.
- Positioning Yourself for Success with Your Resume (March 5, 2026) focuses on translating traditional legal experience into business-focused value on resumes and LinkedIn profiles. The session covers framing work in terms of impact rather than tasks, aligning resumes with in-house expectations, and practical strategies for networking and leveraging connections.
- Understanding Your Personal Leadership Style (April 9, 2026) addresses the reality that in-house roles demand influence even without formal leadership titles. Participants explore their natural leadership tendencies and communication styles, learn to adapt approaches to different stakeholders and business partners, and develop practical skills for leading with confidence and credibility.
- Identifying Opportunities and Leaning In (May 21, 2026) provides strategies for moving beyond reactive mode to strategic contribution. The session teaches participants to spot growth opportunities in daily work, speak up at appropriate moments, step into stretch roles without overcommitting, and build trust and visibility across organizations and business units.
Added Value Through Career Planning Resources
Participants who register for the complete series receive a digital copy of the 2026 Career Planner Workbook for the 21st Century Lawyer, a comprehensive framework for clarifying goals, setting aligned objectives, and maintaining progress throughout the year. The workbook's quarterly review tools mirror the rhythm of in-house work, making it easier to stay intentional as business priorities shift.
Flexible Pricing Options
The program offers flexible participation options with full-series pricing at $150 for members and $325 for non-members, including all four sessions plus the Career Planner Workbook. Individual session pricing is available at $50 for members and $100 for non-members per session, without the Career Planner.
Sessions are available live and on-demand to accommodate busy in-house schedules. Registration is now available through the CBA In-House Lawyers website.
